Underwater ripple marks: onde di sabbia sul fondo del mare
Undewater ripple marks, Cala Sinzias, Sardinia (Aug. 2020) Ripple marks are the typical shapes assumed by the sand of the sea, caused by water flowing. Bed forms are linked to flow velocity and sediment size (the bigger is the size of the sediment granule the greater is the height of Ripples) whereas ripples are characteristic of shallow water deposition and can also be caused by wind blowing over the surface. I Ripple marks sono le tipiche forme assunte dalla sabbia del fondo marino, generate dal moto ondoso. Le forme dei letti sono legate alla velocità del flusso e alla dimensione dei sedimenti (maggiore è la dimensione del granulo di sedimento maggiore è l'altezza delle Ripples), mentre le increspature sono caratteristiche della deposizione in acque poco profonde e possono essere causate anche dal vento che soffia sulla superficie.
