Ideata da una
software house scozzese
spin-off dell'Università di Aberdeen (

Computer scientists at Technabling, a venture from Aberdeen University, have developed a technology that translates sign language into text, thereby empowering the deaf people by making the way they communicate simpler & convenient. The portable sign language translator (or PSLT) app asks users to sign before a camera of a smartphone or a laptop. The persons they are conversing with will be immediately able to see their actions translated into text.
The development of the Portable Sign language Translator (PSLT) is funded by £150K from the Small Business Research Initiative (SBRI) sponsored by the Department for Business Innovation and Skills (BIS) and the Technology Strategy Board (TSB) and managed by JISC TechDis, a leading UK advisory service on technology and inclusion.
