"For hundreds years the Italian Island of Sardinia was known as an unhealthy place to live. Its 9,300 square miles supported only one-third as many persons per square mile as the mainland of Italy. Although the mainland became overcrowded, were unwilling to emigrate to Sardinia. The big reason for this was malaria."
