Se i titoli della stampa nordamericana sono eloquenti ["U.S. military's PowerPoint addiction" oppure "We've met the enemy - and it's PowerPoint" o ancora: Guns and Bullet Points: U.S. Military Combats PowerPoint (Yes, PowerPoint)] le affermazioni dei generali non sono da meno: "PowerPoint ci rende stupidi" (Generale James N. Mattis), "Senza le slide avremmo vinto questa guerra" (Generale Stanley McChrystal).
Il perché? Forse la spiegazione più chiara la fornisce il Generale H.R. McMaster: "It's dangerous because it can create the illusion of understanding and the illusion of control".
